Dear all,
It’s my pleasure to announce a website of our research and educational activities in the field of Astronomy and Astrophysics (A&A) and Cosmology in the Central Department of Physics, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur.
The prime objective of this website is to provide a forum for young Nepalese graduates who wants to study ‘Astrophysics’ or wish to carry out research work in ‘A&A and Cosmology’ in our department. In addition this website will provide official information about their works to the international community (Universities, Research Centres, Collaborators, Professionals, etc.).
From this year (2010), our department has offered ‘Advance Astrophysics’ course for the M.Sc. second year student. The details of this newly introduced course are given in the website. The lecture notes will be added regularly in the future.
Masters thesis (or dissertation) in A&A has been started since 2005 in our department. Till date 33 students completed their masters’ thesis in the field of A&A. Out of these 33 works, nine dissertation works are already published in the various international referred Journals, four works are in the process of publications. In addition, more than 10 masters thesis are published in the regional and national Journals. Lists of these dissertation works with necessary links are added in this website.
If you are interested you can login as a member. It is not necessary that you MUST be our student. Everyone is welcome to fulfill our motives. I strongly recommend you to LOGIN with your full name (with correct identity), photo and complete address (e-mail, phone and surface mail address). Incomplete LOGIN will not be accepted as a MEMBER.
Hope you all will be benefited for your academic career!
Thanks
Binil
